Manager, Email Marketing

We need someone whose primary skillset is developing an email strategy (how we segment customers, frequency, and content direction to motivate behavior), developing and executing tactics to increase subscription, be responsible for email analytics (what's working, what's not) and manage email execution every day. We have a strong creative team so the email marketer wouldn't have to develop creative on his or her own but lead idea generation, set priorities, and manage deliverables with our creative team. The primary measures of success for this role are revenue generation and email community growth.

The role is based in NYC (Times Square).

Specific qualifications we are looking for include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics or statistics
  • 1-3 years online marketing and/or product marketing experience in ecommerce, retail, or technology companies
  • 1-2 years of experience leading email marketing for a B2C product company targeting women. (Huge plus for 2-3 years recent experience in a startup environment.)
  • High attention to detail and consistent track record in assuming ownership, making things happen and moving quickly to implement ideas in a fast-paced online environment
  • A passion for data. You love running reports and deftly organizing information. You’re skilled at synthesizing insights and succinctly communicating results. You get intense satisfaction from developing logical recommendations using data
  • Excellent common sense judgment. You know the right questions to ask and you can get to the answers quickly without getting bogged down in overly complex analyses
  • Advanced Excel skills – you’re such a pro, people come to you for advice
  • Experience with outside vendors. You not only know how to handle vendors, you know when vendors are necessary (or not)
